The Wonder Women of Pride 2012

Where would the spirit of Pride be without the wonderful women in our lives? Sure everyone's favorite drag queen plays a part. You wouldn't head out for a night at the club without your fag hag in hand, and of course we all wouldn't be here without our PFLAG moms...we have to be grateful for that is after all where life began.

But this year, Pride parties across the country couldn't have been as memorable as they were if it wasn't for some of our favorite dance divas, and some eager apprentices waiting in the wings and working hard to win our hearts.

Cyndi Lauper (Live in NYC) proved she still just wants to have fun! The national treasure was the headlining performer and a Grand Marshall of this year's New York City Heritage Of Pride Parade and Dance on the Pier. She moved the crowd with a stirring rendition of her greatest hit and Pride anthem "True Colors," but everyone was on 5-inch pins and needles in anticipation of the debut of her newest single "Sex Is in the Heel" from the upcoming Broadway musical Kinky Boots. Lauper is certain to work her way onto the Tony stage when the show opens soon.

Kylie Minogue (Live in NYC) the pop-goddess of love materialized for all the lovers at Josh Wood's "Day Party" wowing the crowd with a bombastic performance of her latest hit "Timebomb" and show her undying support for the gay boys that keep her one of the world's greatest music icons. Taking a break from her "Anti-Tour" in the UK, Minogue popped into NYC to also help promote her just released greatest hits package The Best of Kylie Minogue. Her current tour setlist is frothing over with rarities and B-Sides that never found their way onto her commercial album releases and are now having a second life as Kylie celebrates 25 years as a musical artist!

Natasha Bedingfield (Live in NYC) showed off her sparkling personality alongside DJ Hector Fonseca who's remixing her upcoming new single and put on quite a show at Matin�e NYC's Pride Party of 2012. Hundreds of hard-bodies took over the beach front on Governors Island for the amazing event with a backdrop looking onto lower Manhattan. As the sun began to fade, the treble began to rise and Bedingfield -�all fashioned out -�put on a beat-stomping performance.

Jenn Cuneta (Live in Chicago) was turning out the night for her Chicago fans when she played up to the very proud masses that came out to hear her new remix courtesy of DJ JST. The duo recently teamed up to remake the classic "Nothing Compares 2 U" for the dance floor crowd. This is of course a prelude of the yet untitled album project that Cuneta has in the works and can't wait to unleash to her audience who are already anxiously anticipating a NY/NJ album release party!

Shara Strand (Live in Seattle) is a vocal tour de force that will soon need no further introduction. The emerging pop-ingenue has released her first set of songs Born Tonight, an EP on D1 Music. She poised herself on the stage for Seattle Pride thrilling the crowd with her mighty impressive range as well as lent her voice to the continuing fight for marriage equality. A platform the artist strongly believes in and will continue to speak up for as she enjoys her newfound fandom.
