A New Jersey teen became an Internet sensation when he spoke out in support of proposed legislation that would ban therapists from practicing so-called "gay conversation therapy" on LGBTQ minors in the state of New Jersey.

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie clarified comments he made earlier this week and said he does not support conversion therapy. Christie, a Republican, did not say if he backs the bill that would ban the controversial therapy in the state, however.

The teen whose coming out speech went viral in January now aims to ban conversation therapy in New Jersey. His online petition currently has more than 100,000 signatures.
