What started out in a basement in Manhattan’s Upper East Side in the 1950’s, and quickly became the go to spot for whimsical food and never before seen desserts, has now taken up shop on Miami Beach’s Lincoln Road.

During the past 13 years, Miami Beach International Fashion Week has evolved into one of the world’s premier fashion events spotlighting designers from all over the world. 

The dancer in the photograph isn’t frozen in time. Her body is the source of light on a darkened stage, and with a blur of muscle, she’s dancing straight at the viewer who has stepped into her moment.

In South Florida fashion isn’t just another generic concept for locals, it has become a way of life.

Jeremy Scott will be premiering his first South Florida Pop Up Store at Base on Lincoln Road, which will feature past and current pieces from Jeremy’s past and current collections throughout Art Basel and December on Wednesday, November 30th.

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and after nearly 50 years of stunning beauty, Marilyn Monroe is being honored by The Grove Retrospective Gallery, in conjunction with Dress for Success Miami, with a Marilyn Monroe Look-Alike Contest.

"Over the last few years Miami Beach has acquired a collection of famous restaurants and renowned chefs from New York City and abroad," said Director of the Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival Lee Brian Schrager.

On Saturday, October 1, the first-ever "Celebrate Orgullo®" event will take place in Lummus Park on Miami Beach.  "Orgullo" is Spanish for "Pride," and this event celebrates South Florida’s LGBT Hispanic community.
