Making Love to the Radio

The self-described "plain white rapper" Kendall delivers an eclectic mix of hip-hop, show-tune camp, and ’80s pop on Making Love to the Radio, his latest CD from Woobie Bear Music.

The first single, "Heterosexual Sex," is a coy homage to the likes of Thomas Dolby that puts a decidedly queer spin on one of the most famous lines ever broadcast on FM radio: "I might like you better if we slept together."

The video for "Bears," a Web sensation that was featured on Logo’s NewNowNext Music earlier this year, is a riotous furfest filmed on location in the woods near Kendall’s home in Buffalo, New York. The song itself is a rapid-fire paean to hot man-on-man sex delivered over a purloined Public Enemy beat.

The video for "Hip Hop Dykes," a sassy spoken-word track with a crunchy analog sound, was awarded The Best Flower City Short at The 2006 Rochester (NY) Lesbian & Gay Film & Video Festival.

"Who Farted on the Dance Floor?" is three and-a-half minutes of pure ’70s glitter à la The Scissor Scissors; and Kendall’s rendition of Foreigner’s "Urgent" somehow manages to be sultry, menacing, and funny all at the same time.

Making Love to the Radio is a frenetic and entertaining release from this hard-working (and built) technobear!
