Like Crazy

Christian Cintron READ TIME: 2 MIN.

"Like Crazy" breaks the romance mold and instead focuses on what real love is. There's an undercurrent of realism in the film. It focuses more on the joyful and exuberant moments in a relationship rather than sweeping romantic gestures. Anton Yelchin ("Star Trek") and Felicity Jones ("The Tempest") showcase their amazing acting skills by capturing the highs and lows of falling in love.

Anna (Jones) is a sensitive, insightful and ballsy girl that hits on one of her TAs (Yelchin). What follows is a relationship that lasts for years. The problem is that given immigration mishaps the couple is constantly being held back from being together. However, the film pursues the intensity and perennial state of first love.

The film features some really great performers. It is also a treasure trove of amazing and underappreciated actors. The film features Alex Kingston, Oliver Muirhead and Finola Hughes. Future mega-star Jennifer Lawrence ("The Hunger Games," "X-Men: First Class") also makes an appearance in the film.

It's refreshing to see a film about love and romance that feels more like a great drama than a sappy romance novel or outlandish fantasy. It's also great to see such amazing young talent showcased in such an original, insightful and witty film.

The DVD comes equipped with Ultraviolet. This allows you to stream the film to any of your mobile, broadband or other personal devices.

"Like Crazy" is an understated yet very intelligent film. It explores the complexities of love with reverence and insight. The cast delivers stellar yet grounded performances. All in all, "Like Crazy" is a film in the vein of "Garden State" and "500 Days of Summer" with a distinct British flair.
